As if perfectly timed with the shortening days and crossover into fall, the prices on package vacations to Europe

plummet by some $300 as soon as you get to September. With slightly cooler tempreatures and the summer can

be still in full swing - with possibly less showers! In all can be one of the most desirable times to visit Europe,

especially the great capitals & countryside.

If this spiel sounds familiar, it's because we recently covered offers to London and Paris,

specifically those good for travel after 1 Nov. This year, the discounting is starting earlier than usual.

Virgin is spotlighting two terrific air-hotel deals that kick off in

early September, with the lead price for both cities being $499.

This gets you round-trip airfare from New York City (NYC is the most 'Popular' long haul destination 2006)

-ED: I use to hate New York until 9/11 - on Virgin Atlantic to London and ONWARD FLIGHTS WITH SHEDULLED or

with TRAVEL LINK CO-ORDINATORS - CHARTER PACKAGE OR LOW COST AIRLINE - LINK - with HOTEL VILLA Or GITE

While the travel window for both cities closes on Oct. 31, travelers to London can leave anytime on or after

Sept. 2, and to Paris on or after Sept. 8. The packages prices from other cities are:

For PARIS stays the hotels are at the in Montmartre, 'Basic' hotel near the famed Moulin Rouge. In LONDON ,

you can stay at the

Cordova Hotel or similar in Central London, an easy hop to the theatre filled West End. You can upgrade your

accommodations for

an operator fee. (Travel Link Co-ordinators do not normally charge any fees) Consider the fact that airfare to

London alone for

midweek travel in mid-September is $419 & UP we think this offer is delivers tremendous value.

Virgin offer expires Aug. 26 . Want to travel to Paris after Oct. 1? Expect to pay $100 less, or $399,

for the self-same package from -

The Scottish - Entertainment
A trip to Edinburgh during the summer months is both a blessing and a curse.

The Edinburgh International Festival and the Military Tattoo will make accommodation very hard to come by.

But on the other hand the choice of entertainment will be extraordinary as the Edinburgh Festival attracts a number of

big stars and arses, new talent alike. Whether you go during festival time or not, The List is the best listings magazine to

To the south of the Royal Mile, the Grassmarket has the liveliest nightlife in the city and boasts a number of historic pubs,

including the White Hart Inn that used to be patronised by Robert Burns. Good bars away from the tourists include The Pond

There's an art to relaxing in...
There's just something about our city that makes you feel good inside. It could be the genuine warmth of our people

our luxurious boutique hotels or the seriously seductive shopping. Perhaps it's our renowned galleries or our Art Nouveau legacy,

It's called Glasgow.
