The Nature Park of the Mountain of Arrábida, with its Mediterranean vegetation, includes a sea park,
three botanic reservations, some intriguing Roman ruins and also Santa Margarida's Cave, a grotto carved
in the rock where a chapel lies. The Tagus Estuary Nature Reserve is an important shrine for migratory birds
and fish, especially the flamingos. In the Sado Estuary Nature Reserve, you can see a unique kind of
dolphin only found in Portugal.
Also don't forget to visit the beaches including Caparica, Lagoa de Albufeira or Portinho da Arrábida! Walk over
the sand dunes and take a bath in the transparent water and delight yourself with the exquisite fish and shellfish.
Surrender to the pleasures of windsurf, diving, fishing, sailing, speedboat racing, hand-gliding and golf.
Travel along the Costa Azul Wine Route. Visit the Cabo Espichel, the convents of Arrábida and Capuchos
and the castles of Palmela and Sesimbra. Last but not least, at Almada, climb to the top of the
Cristo-Rei Shrine and be overwhelmed by the view that this building, an open-armed Christ over Lisboa,
offers. For more information please visit www.visitlisboa.com
