Polish low-cost airline Centralwings has announced that from October 28th 2007

it will be extending its network from the UK to offer flights from Manchester

to Krakow three times a week, and Warsaw four times a week.

Centralwings is also introducing a new route between Edinburgh and Poznan

(three times a week).

The new flights are in addition to Centralwings' existing services from

London Stansted to Warsaw, Gatwick to Warsaw, Krakow and Wroclaw,

and destinations in Poland from Dublin, Shannon and Cork.

Budget airline Ryanair does not currently run a service to Poland from

Manchester or Edinburgh, and Easyjet only fly Edinburgh to Krakow,

so Centralwings's new routes will be filling a gap in the market, particularly for people travelling from the north of the UK.

The Polish airline promises competitive prices for its new routes

Poland is the largest of the East European countries which joined the EU in May 2004.

Poland is comparable in size to

Italy or Germany (in USA larger than New Mexico) and with a population of approximately 39 millions

(e.g. more than California) it ranks among the most influential and remarkable countries in central and

Eastern Europe. Poland is a stable democracy with a truly fascinating history,

great cultural heritage and several areas of outstanding natural beauty.
Many Polish tourist sights have already gained a worldwide reputation and are an absolute must to see

if you consider a journey to this area:

Kraków, Warszawa, Gdansk, Czestochowa, Auschwitz, the Tatra mountains.

Though our offer is aimed primarily at the famous spots we would like to draw your attention also to the less

densely populated areas and offer also unconventional, but seductive program.
Our approach to traveling will assure you both a secure and enjoyable stay. Let us help you to discover our

beautiful country.

In the Summer the Polish sea-side comes to life. Go to Miedzyzdroje, Leba or the Hel Peninsula,

you will be rewarded by historically captivating cities, several highlights of nature and

relaxed maritime climate. you can bathe there after all - the temperature is about 18 °C.

BEER & VODKA

Recommendable bear brands are Okocim, Tyskie, Zywiec, Heweliusz, Lech or Tatra.

You can also test the other names: Królewskie, Warka, EB, Piast, Kujawiak, Brok or

Dojlidy. Besides, you can quite easily find also Czech, German,  Danish or Slovak beer.

It is very popular to mix beer with raspberry or black currant juice (piwo z sokiem) and

drinking it using a straw. Some people find refreshing hot beer with cloves and cinnamon.
Vodka consumption is a bit on the wane. Still it is considered the drink which makes

human contacts easy-going and enables discussions about the more difficult topics.

The name for vodka has changed over centuries. Formerly it was called okowita

(from aqua vitae - the water of life in Latin) which changed into gorzalka

(from the verb gorzec - to glow). Wódka (related to woda - i.e. water) proved to be

the best name for it. If you want to try the most famous brands,

choose Zubrowka with the characteristic bison label, distilled in Bialowieza world-known for

the last bison reserve in Europe. Zubrowka has a long leaf of special grass in the bootle,

which blesses vodka with green colour and a special flavour. The most usual vodkas are

Wyborowa or Sobieski. Very special is krupnik, vodka with honey or

Vodka Goldwasser - vodka with pieces of real gold in it.
Mead (miód pitny) is considered the oldest drink of all Slavonic nations. Do not forget it,

mead has a very delicate, sweet taste.
