In South America, everything is different. Not only the flamboyant culture, the dreamlike atmosphere,

Winter doesn’t really affect tropical Brazil. Weather in Rio is comparable to Miami—meaning it is the best time to go,

since crowds (not to mention temperatures) are at their worst in December and around the Rio carnival in February.

For the more tropical regions of Bahia and elsewhere to the north, it’s always warm, so seasonality isn’t even an issue.

Better still, there are plenty of tours that offer great deals to this Portuguese-speaking land of the samba 
There is life beyond the classic tourist trail of Rio and Iguassu falls— The Bahia region of Brazil to the north,  

here you’ll find the cities of Recife and Salvador both with their own distinct colour, as well as miles of gorgeous and

fairly empty beaches. Salvador in particular is becoming a tourist favorite, since its deep history

(It was the Portuguese Empire’s second-most important city after Lisbon for most of its life) has given the

amazing architecture, and trans-Atlantic slave trade made this region one of the most Africanized parts of the

Western Hemisphere, creating a very different culture from Rio or Sao Paulo to the south.
